Meet Dr. Rameen Vafa, Prosthodontist
Dr. Rameen Vafa is a passionate dental specialist dedicated to restoring smiles with precision, artistry, and compassion. As a Prosthodontist, Dr. Vafa is an expert in the restoration and replacement of teeth, blending advanced technology, surgical skill, and esthetic design to achieve natural, long-lasting results for his patients.
Born and raised in the Main Line, Dr. Vafa earned both his Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering and Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, where he received the Dean’s Scholarship and graduated with honors. He went on to complete a General Practice Residency at Jefferson Abington Health, serving as Chief Resident, before practicing as a general dentist in Philadelphia.
Driven by a passion for complex restorative and surgical cases, Dr. Vafa pursued advanced specialty training at the University of Connecticut, where he completed his Prosthodontics Residency (again serving as Chief Resident), along with a Master of Dental Science focused on digital dentistry and a Certificate in Dental Implant Surgery.
His research has been published in journals including the Journal of Dental Research, Journal of Pathology, and Scientific Reports, and he has presented nationally at meetings of the American College of Prosthodontists, the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, and the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics.
At Opus Dental Esthetics, Dr. Vafa provides a full spectrum of advanced restorative and surgical care, including dental implants, crowns, veneers, bridges, dentures, bone grafting, sinus lifts, and All-on-X full-arch rehabilitation. He prioritizes patient comfort by offering Oral Anxiolysis, a gentle medication that eases dental anxiety. His approach reflects the Opus philosophy: combining meticulous attention to detail, innovative digital workflows, and an unwavering commitment to exceptional patient experience.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Vafa enjoys spending time with his wife, Rachel, a Rheumatology Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, along with their friends and family. He’s an avid salsa dancer, board game enthusiast, and guitarist.
