Our Signature Smile Designs

Opus Dental Esthetics has helped countless patients achieve flawless new smiles through dynamic customization and personalization at our Philadelphia practice. Here is a collection of smile transformation examples below.

Dental Crowns and Bridges

Thoughtfully restored form and function, these before-and-after images highlight the precision of custom dental crowns and bridges. These cases include:

  • Set 1: This young woman was interested in upgrading her lower partial denture to a fixed (nonremovable) solution to replace her missing lower two front teeth. While replacing the lower teeth with a dental implant solution was an option, our patient wasn’t able to consider it. Instead, a ceramic bonded bridge was designed to provide an undetectable natural transition to the patient’s other lower teeth.
  • Set 2: Crowded teeth, chipped teeth, gray tooth color, and the color mismatch between her previous crowns and natural teeth were all top of mind for this busy professional. After orthodontic tooth alignment and teeth whitening, 10 upper ceramic restorations were placed to restore length, maintain color consistency, and fill out her smile.
  • Set 3 and 4: This patient came to us seeking to refresh her ceramic crowns, placed over 20 years ago, to mask tetracycline staining.
  • Set 5: This gentleman came to us with a failing bridge. We made him a new implant-supported bridge crafted to blend with the existing natural shades of his teeth.
  • Set 6 and 7: This patient came to us after years of patchwork dentistry, causing frustrating food traps and a less-than-ideal appearance. Dr. Conover rebuilt this patient’s bite and confidence with full ceramic crown restorations on the upper and lower arches. This patient told us that his co-workers started to call him “smiles” because he hasn’t been able to stop smiling from ear to ear.

Dental Veneers

By carefully reshaping tooth structure and applying ultra-thin porcelain, we correct discoloration, uneven contours, and minor alignment concerns while preserving natural tooth integrity. The result is a balanced, luminous smile. These featured veneer cases include:

  • Set 1: A young lady who unfortunately fell on ice, causing several teeth to shift and her fillings to discolor over time. She was looking for a long-lasting solution to restore her beautiful smile.
  • Set 2: After a front tooth broke, this patient decided to enhance his smile with a more limited approach to improve the appearance of his upper four front teeth. A combination of two porcelain veneers, one ceramic crown, and a dental implant crown provided him with the smile enhancement he sought.
  • Set 3 and 4: This patient came to us ready to move forward with porcelain veneers after attempting to conceal her tetracycline-stained teeth with whitening and dental bonding.
  • Set 5: This patient presented to our office after her general dentist advised her that veneers would be needed for her front teeth. She sought a comprehensive evaluation with us to develop a treatment plan aimed at restoring both optimal function and esthetics.
  • Set 6: This patient came to us seeking white, better-aligned teeth and to address the aging bonding on his front tooth. We completed porcelain veneers on the upper four teeth.

Dental Implants

By replacing missing teeth with biocompatible implants, we reestablish stable occlusion, preserve bone, and support natural-looking restorations. Each case reflects careful planning, advanced imaging, and meticulous execution. These implant cases include:

  • Set 1: Missing teeth, tooth decay, a crooked smile, and a partial upper denture with metal clasps were all part of the pre-treatment presentation for this wonderful patient. After years of less-than-ideal experiences that led her to avoid the dentist, she finally regained confidence in dental care after spending time in our office.
  • Set 2: Over the years, the patient had single-tooth dentistry performed on an as-needed basis, resulting in a variety of colors and materials. Tooth decay under old crowns contributed to tooth loss. Dr. Conover developed a plan that included dental implants, along with other cosmetic and restorative treatments.
  • Set 3: After years of addressing isolated dental problems and subsequent tooth loss, this patient sought our care. We delivered full-arch dental prosthetics retained by dental implants to restore her smile.

Professional Teeth Whitening

Subtle changes can produce remarkable clarity. With professional teeth whitening, we can remove years of accumulated staining, revealing a brighter, more uniform smile while preserving the integrity of natural enamel. These teeth whitening cases include:

  • Set 1: This patient, in her 20s, came to us to whiten her teeth and improve their appearance with our in-office deep bleaching, which yielded much whiter results.
  • Set 2: This wonderful patient was interested in conservative treatment to improve her smile. Treatment was simple with no porcelain veneers required. Invisalign clear aligners were used to straighten the teeth, and in-office deep bleaching significantly lightened tooth color.

Dental Bonding

Composite bonding is used to correct minor chips, close small gaps, and harmonize tooth contours without removing healthy enamel. The result is a more balanced smile that preserves natural translucency. These cases include:

  • Set 1: This patient chipped her front tooth just before a big event. With expert cosmetic bonding, Dr. Conover restored her smile the same day, achieving a natural, seamless result that’s often challenging with a single front tooth.
  • Set 2: This patient came to us after chipping his front tooth by accidentally biting down on a fork. He left amazed. There’s no visible trace of the damage, and you’d never be able to tell where the chip had been!
  • Set 3: This patient wanted a smile that truly reflected her own style. She preferred a fuller, more squared look for her front teeth, and Dr. Conover designed her treatment around that vision. By carefully enhancing the shape, closing small spaces, and brightening her teeth, we created a smile that feels polished and confident, and most importantly, one that is uniquely hers.
  • Set 4: Over time, even the most carefully crafted bonding can show signs of wear, affecting both function and aesthetics. So when this patient came to us seeking a refresh for bonding on her front teeth, #8 and #9, we took the opportunity to refine and rejuvenate her smile. Using advanced bonding techniques and the latest aesthetic materials, Dr. Conover seamlessly restored the shape, color, and symmetry of her teeth.
  • Set 5: This patient came to us after years of putting her smile on the back burner. A fall had left her with small chips and a crack in a front tooth, and while the idea of cosmetic bonding had been on her mind for a while, life always seemed to get in the way. When she finally found us, she said what drew her in was how natural our results looked. We started with Invisalign to subtly straighten her teeth, refined her gum line with a gentle gingivectomy, brightened her smile, and finished with meticulous bonding to restore balance and smoothness.

Clear Aligners

Custom clear aligners precisely guide alignment while preserving comfort and daily convenience. By applying controlled forces over time, we can correct crowding, spacing, and bite relationships with minimal disruption. These before-and-afters include:

  • Set 1: When this patient found us on Instagram, she said what drew her in was the natural look of our results. That’s exactly what we aimed for. We started with Invisalign to subtly straighten her teeth, refined her gum line with a gentle gingivectomy, and brightened her smile.
  • Set 2: This patient was interested in conservative treatment to improve her smile. Treatment was simple; no porcelain veneers were required. Invisalign clear aligners were used to straighten the teeth, and in-office deep bleaching significantly lightened tooth color.
  • Set 3: This patient decided it was time for her smile to match the rest of her look. Using Invisalign, whitening, and carefully placed composite bonding, we refreshed and refined her smile without compromising what made it uniquely hers.
  • Set 4: This patient was interested in conservative treatment to improve her smile. Invisalign clear aligners were used to straighten her teeth, and in-office deep bleaching lightened her tooth color.

Smile Makeover

Through a combination of restorative and cosmetic techniques such as veneers, whitening, and precise occlusal adjustments, we achieve natural-looking, durable smile makeover results. These cases include:

  • The patient came to our office solely for esthetic care. We were able to bond a tooth-colored composite filling on the lower teeth, restoring their appearance and function. Ceramic materials were used to replace the existing crowns on the two upper front teeth, with porcelain veneers utilized on the lateral incisors.
  • A fall and a broken front tooth caused this wonderful long-time patient to consider refreshing her smile. Initially completed over 20 years ago by Dr. Doray, our patient’s smile was already well-designed. Dr. Conover’s goal was to subtly enhance her smile by treating the upper six teeth.
  • After years of single-tooth dentistry, our patient came to the office dissatisfied with the lack of consistency in his smile. With careful planning and execution, Dr. Conover replaced the hodgepodge of existing dental work on his upper teeth with 10 ceramic restorations. The result was a clean, natural, harmonious smile upgrade.
  • This patient came to us after years of patchwork dentistry, causing frustrating food traps and a less-than-ideal appearance. Dr. Conover rebuilt this patient’s bite and confidence with full ceramic crown restorations on the upper and lower arches. This patient told us that his co-workers started to call him “smiles” because he hasn’t been able to stop smiling from ear to ear.
  • This patient came to us seeking to refresh her ceramic crowns, which were placed over 20 years ago to mask tetracycline staining.
