Dr. Derek Conover is a gifted clinician focused on esthetic and advanced restorative dentistry. His interdisciplinary approach to dental care is grounded in empirical research, clinical experience, and ever-evolving techniques. I entered the care of Dr. Conover at the age of 41 after a life of poor dental health. With a history of tooth grinding, tooth fracture, decay, recursive decay, extraction, implant, root canals and tooth sensitivity/pain I was extremely embarrassed and cautious about seeking medical and esthetic treatment.
I normally received 6-month cleanings and constant restorations at my previous dentist but often found the restorations leaving my teeth appearing with patches of various tones and unpleasing. For the past decade I would refuse to smile with my mouth open.
When you enter Opus you will be greeted with kindness and friendship. From the moment you are taken back for your initial evaluation to the moment you receive your final smile you are treated like you are a loved member of their family. Care and respect permeate the office with zero judgement.
To correct my dental conditions I required 24 crowns, 12 upper and 12 lower. Dr. Conover offered me several options and I chose the most comprehensive. As you can imagine having a dentist that you don’t have a prior relationship with, and you have never seen their work firsthand placing 24 crowns in your mouth is a rather large extension of trust. This is a decision I struggled with for over a year, prior to even contacting the office. I now know, not only is Dr. Conover the most amazing dentist I’ve ever met but he a good person who I would trust blindly. He will not accept anything less than perfection from his work.
As embarrassed and ashamed as I am with my smile prior to Dr. Conover’s treatment I am willing to share it with the world for one reason. If it helps you to make the right decision to enter the care of Opus Dental Esthetics, then the cost of my humility is worth it.
After your eval, Dr. Conover will go over your options, treatment plan and timeline. He will answer any and every question you have, and I had A LOT. He will then tailor your treatment to exactly the results you are looking for. He has said on multiple occasions that it is my mouth and my smile and at the end of the day I am the one that has to be happy with it. Together we had picked the color and translucency for my new smile and when my lowers arrived, I was not happy with the color. Although, the new crowns were a night and day improvement over my original smile I wanted something a little more “bleached” in appearance. Dr. Conover gave me his recommendation but made it 100% clear that everything was my choice, and he would not be satisfied with my smile until I was.
Having recently received all of my final crowns I only wish I had called sooner. My new smile does NOT look like 24 crowns. Each tooth has slight variation in both shape, translucency and color. People that meet me for the first time would never guess that I had a full mouth of crowns, they would assume I was blessed with a million-dollar smile..."
